The 47th Assembly District falls entirely within the boundaries of San Bernardino County. Eloise Reyes (D) is the incumbent in this race. Reyes first won the seat in 2016 by defeating incumbent Democrat Cheryl Brown.
This district shows the following party registration for the three largest political groups (the source is http://www.l2political.com):
Republican- 18.1%
Democrat- 48.9%
NPP- 26.8%
2018 saw Reyes run unopposed for re-election.
In 2020 Reyes did draw a Republican challenger. Here are the March 2020 results:
Eloise Gomez Reyes (D)- 71.0%
Matthew Gordon (R)- 29.0%
We will now see a re-match between Eloise Reyes (D) and Matthew Gordon (R). Reyes is the elected incumbent and Gordon is a San Bernardino County Deputy Sheriff.
The numbers do not show that this seat can be flipped. I predict that Eloise Reyes will win in November.
